Woodfork Sworn In as 19th Sheriff of Los Santos County as Public Trust Hits All-Time Low.

DAVIS — Charles G. Woodfork was sworn in today as the 19th Sheriff of Los Santos County, delivering a polished statement heavy on rhetoric about progress, professionalism, and rebuilding trust.
He spoke of “continued progress,” dedication to communities from Del Perro and Rockford Hills to the City of Los Santos and Davis, and close collaboration with local departments—while noting deputies have taken a more direct role in Davis due to staffing shortages. The Operation Safe Streets Bureau, improved technology, enhanced training, and calls for resident feedback all made the usual appearances.
Yet the timing could not be worse. Los Santos County has hit a relatively stale all-time low in public trust of law enforcement. Residents across the county remain skeptical that stronger policies and better training will change much on the ground. And the truant history of racial profiling in marginally lesser, economically developed neighborhoods.
Sheriff Woodfork insisted more work remains and that the office is grounded in integrity and service.
