DEL PERRO FREEWAY TUNNEL DEVASTATED IN FIERY COLLAPSE — FIB PROBES POSSIBLE SABOTAGE
Published by Weazel NewsAll stories

LOS SANTOS — What began as a routine rush hour along the Del Perro Freeway turned into a catastrophic scene of fire, twisted steel, and mass panic earlier today, as a major tunnel along the coastal corridor suffered a partial collapse at the beginning of the Del Perro side following a violent chain-reaction crash and explosion.
According to sources within the FIB, the incident is being treated as a deliberate act of infrastructure sabotage. Investigators believe a fuel tanker traveling through the tunnel had its brake lines intentionally cut, leading to a high-speed loss of control. The tanker reportedly plowed into multiple vehicles during peak traffic conditions, triggering a massive pileup before erupting into a fireball that scorched the tunnel interior and compromised its structural integrity. The resulting explosion caused sections of the tunnel ceiling to collapse, trapping vehicles and forcing dozens of drivers to flee on foot through smoke-filled corridors.
Rescue crews remain on scene, carefully moving through the wreckage in what officials describe as a “slow and dangerous recovery effort.” Several victims have already been transported to nearby hospitals, though the full extent of injuries and possible fatalities.. remains unclear.
FIB agents are actively searching for two suspects believed to be linked to the incident, who fled the area shortly after an officer-involved shooting in Strawberry. One suspect was confirmed dead at the scene, while the second remains at large. Federal authorities suspect the tunnel sabotage was intended to create mass disruption, overwhelming emergency services and diverting resources but for what reason is not been stated by the FIB.
Traffic conditions across Los Santos have deteriorated rapidly in the aftermath. With the tunnel shut down indefinitely, drivers are being forced into already congested surface routes through Vespucci and Del Perro causing massive long backups and gridlock throughout city streets.
